Der belgische Grafiker, Zeichner und Maler Frans Masereel leitete von 1947 bis 1951 auf Einladung des damaligen Leiters Henry Gowa die Meisterklasse für Malerei an der neugegründeten Schule für Kunst und Handwerk, der Vorgängerin der Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar. Die nach ihm benannte Gastprofessur ist dem zeitgenössischen Comic und der Graphic Novel gewidmet.
Eric Drooker
Eric Drooker is a painter and award winning graphic novelist. His paintings are frequently seen on covers of "The New Yorker" and numerous other magazines and books. He published three graphic novels, "Flood! A Novel in Pictures" (winner of the American Book Award), "Blood Song: A Silent Ballad," and "Howl: A Graphic Novel."
He gives slide lectures at universities and cultural centers worldwide. In
2003 he was asked to teach at Academy of Art College in San Francisco, and was invited to show his work at the Venice Biennale.
Eric is a third generation New Yorker, born and raised on Manhattan Island.
